Jyothi Convent School ,Bhadrak is an undertaking of the Roman Catholic
Diocese of Balasore . The purpose of this educational institution is to impart
quality education and enkindle in the hearts of the children from a very young
age, the spirit of courage to be better human persons in life. There are a
number of schools functioning in the district of Balasore ,Mayurbhanj , Keonjar
and Bhadrak ,under the administration and management of the Roman Catholic
Diocese of Balasore .Time has proved that these institutions have created
greater impacts on education in these districts.
The institution, right from the time of its inception has made all the effort to facilitate maximum care for its students while they are in the school . And provide them with quality education that they grow into better human persons to be a part of the nation building .
In the school curriculum besides the CBSE pattern of syllabus followed ,there are other academic exposure programs arranged to enable the children to be equipped with better commucative skills in English from the earlier phase of their schooling here at JCS .
The terminal examinations are arranged with much care that every student is evaluated upon their performance .At the end of every terminal exams a day is kept as day for the open house , a system in which the parents and the guardians are allowed to check the answer sheets of the pupil and can have interactions with the class teacher and the Principal . That way the open house schedule twice a year would help the guardians and parents to keep track of the students performance and take appropriate steps to guide and form the students.
It is a very gradual process to bloom where we are planted.JCS looked towards the years that lies a head with hope that the benevolent God would bless this institution and keep all its staff and students safe and secure . May all the cooperation and support that we get from every direction , help this institution to reach new heights .
A CHRISTIAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL
As it is a Christian Catholic School, the institution belongs to a minority
community with the power and rights and describe in the constitution of our
nation. However application for admission are accepted from students of all
religious faith and communities . The administration of the school is entrusted
to the principal who is an appointee of the Bishop of Balasore Diocese.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Universal and ongoing education :Universal education is that sound education,
forming the students personality by inculcating in them the noble habits of
piety, virtue , discipline and self-reliance . During the years of study at JCS
, they are to strive for academic excellence , development of skills , character
formation , all round development and sincere commitment and fear of God.
Communicative skills in English : From the very tender age how children can get acquainted with English language and use it correctly and efficiently in commutating with everyone , is a matter of great concern. At JCS every effort is made to teach the students to handle English effectively in their interaction and writing skills .
Discipline and formation :At JCS students are given ample opportunity to reflect, , build their personality by ensuring a high standard morality and discipline in the school . A student must strive to attain qualities of mind and heart and integrate into his/her life, virtues such as honesty , sincerity , piety , compassion, generosity , love for nature and self-reliance.
Spiritual : The school respects the freedom and personal conscience of each one, ,creating a climate of serenity and happiness in the school .To promote in all students a rootedness in their faith and appreciation for other religions, JCS provides facilities for campus , relationships , moral instructions , group dynamism etc.
Social : JCS aims at forming its students that they be human persons deeply convinced of the common fatherhood of God and the bond of fellowship among human beings. During their schooling at JCS, every student should learn to accept his/her on uniqueness and that of others as persons .He/she will have a special concern for the disposed and marginalized in the society . They should become motivated to act as agent s of social change. They should in future as matured human persons resist all evils of society and build the nation . They are initiated to promote the values of love , peace , justice and freedom in society.
Intellectual : JCS helps the students to strive for academic excellence using all the available means in the school , in a spirit of acquiring and applying knowledge through collaborations rather than competition. Every student should have the skills to evaluate and criticise objectively and constructively and have the capacity and concern to continue in his/her strife towards wisdom.
Cultural :India has always being known as a land of ‘rich culture’.
Our culture is very rich in signs and symbols. JCS helps the students to respect
and appreciate the richness of Indian culture which is expressed in certain
values and attitudes like silence and interiority, spirit of detachment and
freedom, asceticism , hard work and respect for elders. JCS also gives the
students a sense of patriotism , respecting the different cultures around her.
He/ she will work for national integration and communal harmony , respecting
others without distinction of any religion , caste , language or economic status
.
Academic exposure programs :Every new born babe comes to this worldwith a spark
of the divine in him/her. Therefore enormous amount of creative talents are
inherent in every child . The parents and teachers are the first ones to
discover these traits and talents in them . We must spot them at an early age
and develop them further by words of encouragement and whole hearted support. In
this regard we must enhance such talents with proper care and guidance.
Children by nature , have a great deal of curiosity and an ardent desire to discover every thing around them. Keeping in view of this JCS at different phases of the academic year, arranged number of exposure programs and talent enhancing activities . During the academic year the students are given opportunity to discover develop and demonstrate their inherent God given talents and capabilities by various exposure programs such as annual science exhibition , annual academic study tour , kids day and colour day etc.
Sports and games :Students personality , initiative and originality are given full scope by giving opportunity to involve and participate in student’s movements, sports and games .
Conclusion
We wish to construct with the young , a civilisation of love, to change the
world , make it a more human place , more fraternal and to a great extend a
world of God in an unconditional attitude of welcome , listening and openness
which builds up confidence.
